Pete successfully passed his BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage in 2014 and has since worked with many people including elite marathon runners, cyclists, walkers, paddle boarders, skiers and park run regulars.
He has always used sports massage as a key part of his preparation for marathons & challenges. It’s ability to prevent injury, speed up recovery and support his running lifestyle means that it has been an invaluable support to his running preparation. What is Sports Massage?
Sports massage is designed to help prevent injury and prepare athletes for peak performance. However you don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage as it is geared towards active people of any kind.
Sports massage focuses heavily on prevention and the healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons, working to reduce restrictions of joint and soft tissue range of motion. It promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance.
What happens during a sports massage?
Sports massage will use a variety of massage techniques to stimulate circulation of blood and lymph fluids improve muscle tone and remove trigger points. Pete will always explain what he’s doing and why and is happy to answer any questions or give running advice alongside.
